When Bach used the chorale text for 'Was Gott tut, das ist wohlgetan’, performed by the Netherlands Bach Society for All of Bach, for the second time he took a completely different approach to his cantata of the same name from ten years earlier (BWV 99). He lent extra festivity to the instrumentation of that version (flute, oboe d’amore, horn, strings and basso continuo) by adding a second horn and timpani.
