En su comentario al evangelio de Juan, sobre el testimonio de Juan el Bautista acerca de Jesús, el Padre Nicolás enfatizó la mision que la Iglesia, y en ella la Compañía de Jesús, tiene de predicar al Señor en todas las naciones. El Padre General hizo una llamada a estar atentos a este mensaje de salvación, que también hoy, con sus nuevos tonos y características, ha de ser transmitido a todas las naciones.
In his remarks on John?s Gospel which told about John the Baptist witnessing to Jesus, Father Nicolás emphasized the mission that the Church and the Society of Jesus have to preach Jesus just as John the Baptist did. The strong remarks on mission clearly echoed his own experience in Japan and his knowledge of the growing Church in Asia.
